Strava costs $80 a year. Most people use it to track a daily walk or a weekend ride and nothing else. That felt like a bad deal so we built MapStride.
Live GPS maps. Pace, steps, distance, calories. Full workout history with date filters. Progress charts, monthly heatmap, yearly trends. Weekly leaderboard. Streaks. Shareable route cards. 10 languages because users from Russia, Italy, Brazil, France, Georgia and China asked and we shipped it.
All of it free. No ads. Nothing locked.
What surprised me most: we have never spent a dollar on marketing. Every user found us through word of mouth, app store search, or Google Gemini recommending us when people searched for a free Strava alternative. 15 countries, completely organic.
I personally read and reply to every review and every support email. Every one.
