maniquest
Plan. Share. Prove. - Prove a goal with a live photo.
One goal today. One tomorrow. Plan it, share it with others, and prove it with a live photo! Supplementary photos from either live camera or gallery can be added to show your progress. With maniquest, only today and tomorrow count. If I have a quest/task today, I can prove it with a photo. When midnight GMT+1 comes around, tomorrow's task becomes todays. Rinse and repeat. Photos are deleted at midnight, it doesn't matter if they're bad photos, they're there for the day to show others.
A while back I was really into Fitbit, tracking daily steps, being more active. The social side only worked however if people I knew had Fitbits too. The only other person I knew using one was my fiancée, so there wasn't really other people to share my goals and progress with.
That stuck with me. With maniquest, the idea is: whatever your daily quest/goal, you should have somewhere to show it. So it's completely public - everyone on the app can see everyone else's quest and proof photo, not just an approved friend list. No barrier to having someone to share it with.
The core rule is simple: each day you set just one quest, and prove it with a live camera photo - no gallery uploads, no faking. That small bit of friction keeps it more honest, for you and whoever's watching. I still use Fitbit, most days my quest/goal photo is just a live shot of my watch showing the current step count, and maybe a gallery shot at the end of the day of the app. First photo must be a live photo, supplementary ones can be from gallery or camera.
It's a PWA, so no app store needed, just add it to your home screen from settings, or the little download button on the sites dashboard when you're logged in.
It's still early days, there's only a handful of users. I officially launched yesterday, September 1st, although it's been on and offline while working on it.
I'd love you to try it, and would love some feedback. Either through here, or the feedback page on the app.
Thanks a lot! Enjoy, -Bern

Who hunted maniquest?
maniquest was hunted by Bernard Fox. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
