Make This Button More Expensive

A button that gets $1 more expensive after every purchase

The button starts cheap and gets $1 more expensive every time someone buys it. Each buyer gets a permanent public receipt with their name and message. It’s part internet experiment, part escalating ad space: if the site gets attention, early receipts become cheap permanent placements in the history.

I had the idea for a button that literally gets more expensive every time somebody buys it, and I wanted the rules to be dead simple. It started at $1. Every completed purchase raises the price by exactly $1 for the next person. The buyer gets a permanent public receipt with their name and message, and the history never resets. The funny part is making the deal worse for whoever comes next. The more interesting part is what happens if the site actually gets traffic. Somebody who bought an early receipt for a few dollars could end up with a very cheap permanent spot in a public history that a lot more people are looking at later. I also wanted the mechanics to be real. No fake purchases, fake activity, skipped prices, or resets. Three people have bought it so far, so the button is currently $4. Mostly, I want to see what happens when strangers find it.
