MagPunk
Set the rules for your feed, keep the noise at the gate!
MagPunk is a privacy-first media monitoring tool that runs entirely on your device. Instead of a typical chronological RSS feed, it filters noise using a local scoring system based on freshness, confirmation, and title quality. Features include on-device tagging, similarity grouping, a Daily Brief, and offline reading. No accounts, no ads, no tracking—your data never leaves your phone. Core features are free; advanced tools are available in the Pro tier. Take control of your headlines.
Hi everyone, I'm Heval Deniz, the solo developer and designer behind MagPunk.
With a background in communications, I spend a lot of time analyzing how we consume media. The current state of news feeds is mostly noise, clickbait, and endless tracking. I wanted a tool that filters this chaos, respects my time, and doesn't spy on me while doing it.
That is exactly why I built MagPunk. It is not a standard chronological RSS reader. It’s a media monitor that runs entirely on edge computing.
There is no backend server analyzing your habits. The tagging, sentiment analysis, similarity matching, and scoring—all of it happens locally on your phone. It ignores popularity metrics and instead filters your feed based on freshness, independent confirmation, and title quality.
No accounts, no ads, and absolutely zero server-side data collection. Just a clean, offline-first environment where you set the rules.
I built this to be a quiet, efficient utility for people who want to control their own feeds. I would really appreciate your thoughts on the local scoring approach and the overall UI. I'll be here to answer any questions.

Who hunted MagPunk?
MagPunk was hunted by Heval Deniz Kaya. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
