Mada

Lock-screen reminders that stay until you tap Done

Notifications vanish the moment you swipe them — then you forget anyway. Mada is different: your reminder lives on your lock screen as a Live Activity and stays there until you tap Done. Built for the small recurring things that matter — medication, plants, family calls. One tap to complete, right from the lock screen. No accounts, no ads, no analytics SDKs; the core app stays on your device. iPhone, iOS 17+. Not a to-do app — just a forget-proof layer for what matters.

Hi, I'm Junghwan Park, indie maker of Mada. This started with a stupidly small problem: I kept swiping away medication reminders and then forgetting whether I'd actually taken them. Regular notifications disappear the instant you dismiss them, so they're easy to dismiss-and-forget. So Mada does one thing: the reminder appears on your lock screen as a Live Activity and stays there until you tap Done. No countdown, no "37 minutes overdue" guilt — just upcoming → due → pending → done. One tap on the lock screen completes it, so you never even open the app (which is why it stays so quiet). A few principles I stuck to: no ads, no analytics SDKs, no accounts — the core app runs fully on-device (the optional lock-screen auto-reminders use a minimal first-party backend you turn on yourself, off by default); calm by design, "quietly helpful" not "look at me"; and it's a thin layer for things that matter (meds, plants, family), not another life-management system. It's been live a few weeks and the retention surprised me — people who try it tend to stick, probably because the core loop happens on the lock screen. It's now in English, Korean, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese. I'd love your honest feedback — especially: does "stays until done" actually change whether you follow through? Happy to answer anything about the ActivityKit / push-to-start side too.

Who hunted Mada?

Mada was hunted by parkjunghwan. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
