Luma Editor 2.0

Match a look you love, then keep every slider

Show Luma a photo whose look you love and it works out the adjustments that take your photo there, handing them back as real sliders rather than a filter. 2.0 adds a full editor around that: tone curves, an eight-band colour mixer, split toning, black & white, masks, crop and lens fixes, retouch and burst culling. It edits inside the Photos app, never touches your original, and runs entirely on device. $14.99 once, no subscription.

Hi Product Hunt, Blaine here. I launched Luma here last December. Back then it did one thing: you showed it a photo whose look you liked, and it moved that look onto your own photos. It worked, but what you got back was finished pixels. The only thing you could change was "how much". That bothered me more the longer I used it, so 2.0 is a rebuild. A style match now produces a recipe: exposure, highlights, shadows, warmth, tone curves, an eight-band colour mixer, split toning. They're the same sliders the Photos app uses, plus a few more, and every one of them stays yours to move. Intensity scales the recipe itself, so 60% means every slider at 60%, not a faded copy of the result. Once the sliders were real, the rest of an editor followed: masks (gradients, tonal and colour ranges, and subject/background/people found on device), crop and straighten with lens corrections, content-aware retouch that's stored as parameters, and a culling tool that groups a burst and suggests the keeper. It never deletes anything. Luma also lives inside the Photos app now (Edit, then the extensions button, then Luma). Edits are non-destructive and sync through iCloud Photos. Reopen a photo a month later and every slider is where you left it. You can export a look as Camera Raw settings or a .cube LUT. Everything runs on device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no subscription. It's $14.99 once. A question for photographers: when you borrow a look from someone else's photo, what's the first slider you end up changing?
