Hi Product Hunt! I'm Atharva, the maker of Lufthaven. A best in-class flight tracker app. I've been a Flighty Pro user since their launch, but I always had a lot of gripes with it. I've traveled a lot, and lived in 7 different countries. Whenever I travel outside the US and North America in general I found Flighty's data to be quite outdated and lacking. I was once sitting on the tarmac at Vienna airport for 70 mins and Flighty somehow thought that I had already departed. It got to the point that Flighty just became a way for me to log my flights (and show off how many flights I've taken in a year), and the flight tracking bit was nearly useless. Lufthaven is an attempt at fixing my own gripes with Flighty, and flight tracking apps in general. Flying is stressful for a lot of reasons, and the *flight* part is just one of it. Before you leave for the airport, you never know precisely how long before your departure you should get there. When you're inside the airport, you have to constantly check the departures board to see if your flight has started boarding. You have to make sure that you have enough time to walk to your gate from the lounge. Lufthaven tells you all of these things: it can notify you when your flight starts boarding, it can tell you at (some) airports what the wait time is for the TSA/security screening (and yes it has a separate estimate for TSA Precheck.) Lufthaven also tells you precisely when you should leave for the airport given your mode of transport to it, and also give you a one-tap direct access to book an Uber to your terminal straight from the app. But it's not just limited to this: we use a lot more variety of data sources to give you a much better and accurate picture of your flight's punctuality. In the US, we go straight to the source and utilize FAA data ourselves to make predictions on if your flight will be delayed. In my own testing, I found Lufthaven to be much more accurate and faster than Flighty in telling me when my flight is delayed, if a gate has changed, or if I won't be able to make my connecting flight. We also tested this with a bunch of pilots and flight attendants for commercial airlines in many different countries. Flight tracking is an incredibly hard problem with near infinite edge cases, but I'm determined to make the best flight tracker the world's ever seen.
