Last year I was about to put a website live and realized my homepage weighed too much. I opened the usual online compressor, watched it upload my images to a server I knew nothing about, and got back files that looked fine until I zoomed in. I thought this should just be a fast, private app on my Mac where I can see exactly what I'm trading away. That weekend project became Luere. You drop an image in, drag a slider to compare before and after at full zoom, and tell it "make this under 200 KB" instead of guessing at quality numbers. Everything runs on your Mac and nothing ever leaves it. I've used it on every image I've shipped since, and I'm curious whether it earns a spot in your workflow too.
