Luckee

Location-based dating inside Telegram — no app install

Most dating apps are 300MB installs with a 12-step signup before they show you a single person. Luckee runs entirely inside Telegram — open a chat, answer a few questions, start swiping. Your exact location is never shared: people only ever see "~5 km away". And nobody can message you unless you both liked each other, so no unsolicited DMs. 7 languages, every photo goes through moderation, and it's funded with Telegram Stars instead of ads.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built Luckee because I got tired of dating apps that want a 300MB download, my phone number, my Instagram, and a dozen onboarding screens before showing me a single person. Telegram was already open on my phone — why not just build it there? A few things I cared about while building it: 🔒 Location privacy. The app needs your location to work, but nobody else needs it. Coordinates are stored for distance math only; other users just see "~5 km away". Even the city label is computed from rounded coordinates. 🛡️ No unsolicited messages. You can't be messaged unless you both liked each other. This one felt non-negotiable. 🖼️ Photo moderation. Every profile photo goes through a review queue before I trust it. I'd rather over-engineer safety early than clean up a mess later. 💫 No ads. It's funded with Telegram Stars. Ads in a dating feed felt gross, and I didn't want the incentive to keep people scrolling instead of matching. The hardest part wasn't technical — it was the cold start. A location-based app with 30 users spread across the world is worse than useless. I ended up building progressive radius expansion so nobody ever hits an empty screen, plus a referral loop so early users can build density themselves. It's days old and very empty, so I'm genuinely here for feedback on the concept and the onboarding flow. Curious what you'd add — and if you've launched something social, how did you solve the chicken-and-egg problem?

Who hunted Luckee?

Luckee was hunted by New User. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
