Long Words
A cozy word game that rewards longer words
Long Words is a cozy iOS word game that rewards building longer, more satisfying words instead of chasing tiny bonus-tile traps. Play against Biblio, a grumpy-cute bookish cat, challenge friends in async human games, solve daily riddles, trade letters without losing your turn, and use zaps to unjam the board.
Top comment
I started building Long Words out of pure frustration with existing word games, because the gameplay always devolves into 2 or 3-letter words meant to maximize bonus tiles and block the opponent from getting them. I always felt like you should be rewarded based on how long a word is. I also wanted a word game I can play with friends where the chat isn't buried in another screen. This ended up being pretty fun, so I added the ability to play solo/offline and have it still feel as fun/social...I use Apple's Foundation models to have the cat (Biblio) chat with you while you play against him.
