Live Markdown Preview
Local-first Markdown editor with safe live preview
Live Markdown Preview is a free, frontend-only Markdown editor that keeps drafts in your browser instead of sending them to a server. It renders GitHub Flavored Markdown in a Web Worker, saves multiple local drafts, detects same-device tab conflicts, and lets you copy Markdown or sanitized HTML. Built for quick writing, docs, README drafts, and safe previewing without accounts, analytics, telemetry, or backend storage.
Hey Product Hunt,
I built Live Markdown Preview because I wanted a fast Markdown workspace I could trust with unfinished notes, docs, README drafts, and snippets of HTML without sending everything to a backend.
It is frontend-only: drafts and preferences stay in the browser, rendering happens in a Web Worker, and raw HTML is sanitized before preview or copy.
A few things I focused on:
- GitHub Flavored Markdown with tables and task lists
- Multiple local drafts stored in IndexedDB
- Same-device tab conflict detection
- Copy Markdown or sanitized HTML
- Browser print PDF export
- No accounts, analytics, telemetry, or remote content storage
I would love feedback from people who write docs, READMEs, changelogs, blog drafts, or support snippets in Markdown. What would make this useful enough to keep open all day?
