LiquidWall

Live video & photo wallpapers for macOS Tahoe — Wallpaper Engine alternative with Pixabay gallery - daifoll/LiquidWall

Top comment

Hi everyone! I built LiquidWall because macOS still doesn’t have a simple, lightweight alternative to Wallpaper Engine. I wanted an app that could set live video wallpapers, stay minimal, and not drain system resources. It started as a personal project — I just wanted my desktop to feel more alive. Then I added video support, then a photo gallery powered by Pixabay, and realized others might find it useful too. LiquidWall is intentionally minimal: no cluttered menus, no complicated settings — just live wallpapers that work. Right now I’m mainly looking for feedback: what features you’d like to see, what formats you use, and how I can make the experience better. Thanks for checking out my project — I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Who hunted LiquidWall?

LiquidWall was hunted by Kirill. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
