Link Tapes

Make a mixtape with friends, one turn at a time

Link Tapes turns a group chat into a shared mixtape. Create a tape, send the link, and take turns: everyone adds a song from YouTube, Spotify, Deezer or SoundCloud, with a note on why they picked it. People use it for birthdays, dinners and road trips. Friends join as guests with just a name: no account, no app. Want it private? A Backstage tape needs an access code. Free, works in any browser, speaks 45 languages. Spotify and Deezer play previews unless the player is signed in to Premium.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Hendrik, the maker of Link Tapes.

I first built it as a therapeutic tool, and soon realized it shines at small get-togethers with friends and family.

Here's a small experiment to try at your next dinner: one speaker, three friends, one song each. Create a tape, share the link in your group chat, and take turns adding a song and the story behind it. Guests can join without an account, and it's free.

For an in-person session, the host runs the listening device. Try a few chosen tracks on that device first: availability and playback depend on the source. The shared tape keeps everyone's picks together.

I'm looking for a few small groups to try a twenty-minute round. If you try it, tell me where joining, adding your first song or taking your next turn felt confusing. And would your group do it again?
