Limelight

Your photo, your link, your climb to the top spot.

A live leaderboard for creators. Real people give you free likes, and the top spot is yours to take. Every week a new champion. Post a photo and your Instagram or website, collect likes from real visitors, and boost your rank with points. Boosts melt over time, so the leaderboard never gets stuck and #1 is always contestable.

The core problem I wanted to solve was: how do you keep a ranking competitive every single day, not just at launch? So I designed the board around three mechanics: free likes from real visitors, paid boosts for people who want to climb faster, and score melt over time so #1 is always contestable. While building, the biggest evolution was trust and clarity. I focused a lot on making actions obvious (view vs outbound clicks), making ownership controls self-serve (edit/delete your own card), and ensuring payment outcomes are reflected correctly through webhooks before points are credited. Would love feedback on two things from the PH community: Does this feel like a fair balance between organic engagement and paid promotion? What would make this more useful for creators/agencies running growth experiments?

Who hunted Limelight?

Limelight was hunted by Rachit Saxena. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
