LetX

Write LaTeX together. The AI runs the build.

Most AI tools hand you LaTeX and leave you to paste it somewhere and hope it builds. Lexi works inside the project: it creates and edits files, builds tables and TikZ diagrams, fixes your bibliography, compiles, reads the real latexmk log, and fixes what it reported. Every edit snapshots first, so it can be reverted. Connect Claude or ChatGPT over MCP and they get the same project: 1,019 templates, create, edit, compile. Unlimited collaborators on every plan. Overleaf's free tier allows one.

Top comment

letX has been live since January and 3,112 people are using it across 268 universities and research labs. Today is the first time I have asked anyone to look. I kept losing afternoons to LaTeX that would not compile. Not to writing it: to a missing brace on line 340, an undefined citation, a table that silently overflowed the margin. Every AI writing tool I tried did the same thing. Hand me LaTeX, wish me luck. They cannot compile, so they have never seen my log. letX runs a real TeX Live farm, so Lexi does the loop a person does: edit, compile, read what latexmk said, fix that line, compile again. Every edit snapshots first, because an AI with write access to your thesis needs an undo that works. Free gives you unlimited collaborators, all 1,019 templates and the whole editor. That is not going to change. Tell me what breaks for you. I am here all day.

Who hunted LetX?

LetX was hunted by Shihab Shahriar Antor. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
