Lens by Addifect

Paint living shader effects onto any photo or AI art

Paint living WebGL shader effects—liquid, water, light, glitch—onto any photo or AI art. Mask what moves, embed anywhere in one line. Compositions save to your own GitHub—zero lock-in. Engine is ~12KB gzipped; art loads separately, like an image. Beta: core loop (paint, layer, embed) works today; mobile perf & shader library still expanding. Founder pricing $39 lifetime ($59 after) funds the roadmap.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Lahiru, a solo developer from Sri Lanka, and I'm excited to share Addifect Lens.

🎮 Try the interactive sandbox (no login required):
https://studio.addifect.com/sandbox

💡 What it is:
A browser studio where you paint shader effects—liquid, water, light, glitch, displacement—directly onto any image. Mask exactly where the effect lives, keep the rest of the image untouched, and turn a static photo or AI generation into living, interactive art.

Embed it anywhere in one line:

html

<div data-addifect="your-art-id"></div>
<script src="https://cdn.addifect.com/addifec..."></script>

Why it's different:

  • ~12KB gzipped engine — smaller than most website favicons. Your art loads separately as a small compressed file, just like an image.

  • Total ownership — compositions save directly to your own GitHub repo. Your art data is yours, independent of our servers, even if Addifect ever goes away.

  • Universal source — works with real photography, AI generations, and digital illustrations.

🧪 Why this is launching as beta:
I want to be upfront: this is early beta. The core loop—paint, layer, embed—works today, but you'll find rough edges as I keep optimizing mobile rendering and heavier shaders. Rather than wait months for a "perfect" v1, I'm launching now, transparently, and using Founder Lifetime Pricing ($39, rising to $59 after launch) to fund finishing it in the open.

🛣️ What's coming next:

  • Expanded shader library

  • Faster mobile rendering

  • Audio-reactive presets (mic-reactive backdrops for streamers/VTubers)

Why I built this:
For over a decade I built in the shadows—until severe burnout hit, hard enough that I couldn't press a single key. I stepped away completely and took a job managing a beach house. But one idea stayed stuck in my head: real, living motion on the web, without the bloat. When I came back to code, learning WebGL—notoriously one of the hardest parts of the web—became how I rebuilt my focus. That journey became Addifect Lens.

I'm hanging out in the comments all day—I'd love your raw feedback, bug reports, or any questions about the WebGL architecture! 🙏
