Latent
See which dev tool ate your disk, and undo every cleanup
Latent attributes every gigabyte on a developer's Mac to the tool that owns it — model weights, package caches, simulator runtimes, build artifacts — proves what can be re-downloaded from a public registry, and removes only that. Every removal is recorded first and can be undone from the Recovery tab. Nothing runs at startup, on a schedule, or in the background. No scan alerts, no error counts, no performance claims. Free to scan; a licence covers 3 Macs — $9.99 for a limited time, then $12.99.
Hi Product Hunt — I'm Donghwan, a solo developer in Seoul.
I built Latent after an ML side project quietly filled my Mac with model weights and package caches that no cleaner could explain. The tools I tried either deleted things I later needed, or showed me "junk" with no way to tell what it was.
So Latent starts from the opposite rule: never delete what can't be brought back. It tells you which tool owns each gigabyte, proves re-downloadability against the real registry before offering removal, and writes a record before every move so you can undo it. If it can't prove something, it says so and leaves it alone.
It's free to scan, and a one-time licence unlocks removal. I'd love to hear which caches on your Mac it gets wrong — the feedback form can attach the cleanup record so I can see exactly what happened.

Who hunted Latent?
Latent was hunted by Bernard Lee. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
