I built LANSpeed because internet speed tests reveal very little about what is actually happening inside a home, office, or homelab network. When Wi-Fi is slow, a cable negotiates at 100 Mbps, or a NAS path becomes a bottleneck, I wanted a simple way to isolate the LAN itself—without cloud servers or bundled iperf3 binaries.
LANSpeed uses a native Rust/Tokio test engine. Devices discover each other over mDNS, then measure upload, download, latency, jitter, and packet loss directly across the LAN. It includes live charts, history, rule-based diagnostics, CSV export, parallel streams, and an always-on daemon for Docker, NAS, and OpenWRT.
Version 0.2.6 brings a redesigned desktop UI and makes the macOS version free to download with a 24-hour full-feature trial. Windows and Android builds are also available.
