I'm promoting KudoWrite - a free app that uses AI to help you write fiction (drafting, rewriting, and expanding scenes) without the subscriptions, the content filters, or your drafts living on someone else's server. I started building it because I write on the side, and every AI tool I tried kept getting in the way. The good ones were subscriptions that quietly added up on what's really just a hobby, and most of them flat-out refused anything dark or explicit - which is half of what I actually want to write. What bothered me most was the feeling that my drafts were sitting on some company's servers, and that I was basically renting access to my own writing process, month after month. I went looking for something simpler, cheaper, and more private, and couldn't find it. So I made it. With KudoWrite you bring your own AI model (there are free ones, or it costs cents - no subscription, no markup), there are no content filters, and your work saves to your own Google Drive. I never see a word of it. So KudoWrite is my labor of love - an accessible, genuinely free way for writers to draft with AI on their own terms. Just starting out and would love to have people try it and tell me what the experience is like! kudowrite can't train on your writing or sell it, because it never sees it. It's a fully static site — there's no kudowrite server anywhere. You bring your own OpenRouter API key and pick your own model, and your text goes straight from your browser to OpenRouter under your account. Nothing routes through me, so there's nothing for me to log or sell. My only cost is static hosting; the model usage is all on your key.
