Hi Product Hunt — I'm Alberto, and KOWA is a one-person project.
I built it because every budgeting app I tried wanted my bank credentials, or an aggregator sitting in the middle with permanent access to my account. I didn't want either. With KOWA you download the statement from your bank's website (CSV, Excel, OFX or PDF) and import it yourself — nothing ever touches your bank.
I use it every day with my own real data, and I was also its first paying customer. That changes how you build: no cookies, no trackers, no session recording, and GDPR export/delete are real buttons, not a paragraph in a policy.
The AI is deliberately the last layer, not the first. Imported transactions are matched against rules and your own history before anything else; the AI is only asked about merchants the app has never seen, and names, IBANs and account numbers are masked before anything leaves the server. What it does write is the monthly report — your win of the month, your weak spot, one concrete move — and the Oracle, where you ask a question and it answers with your real numbers.
