There are ZERO open source enterprise performance management products on the market. And all products tend to drive finance users away from Excel. We want to bring them back to Excel. Excel is where excellent analysis lives. There are only 2 formulas EPM() and EPMSAVE() which you need to remember to get actuals out and save your budget. Rest is pure in excel.
I have been working with Hyperion / EPM software since 2014. I want a controller for sales, general and administrative cost for Food & Beverages division at Ecolab (Europe). To me it was one of the most well designed excel products. Fast, well thought and it worked exactly how people worked. And I heard it was very expensive and difficult to manage.
That thought never left me. Before I did my MBA and worked in Finance, I was building data warehouses and worked with SQL extensively and always wondered what it would take to build it.
