Kochi
Kochi — your desktop's little fox companion
Kochi is an adorable Windows desktop mascot that tidies your Desktop, hides distractions while you focus, and keeps you company. Pay once, download, done.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Hatim, the maker of Kochi 🦊
Kochi is a tiny fox that lives in the corner of your Windows desktop. He tidies up your messy Desktop, hides every distraction while you focus, and cheers you on with small, friendly reminders.
Why I built it
My own Desktop was a graveyard of random files, and I didn't trust any "cleaner" tool not to delete something important. So I built one where file safety is a hard rule, not a promise.
What Kochi does
🧹 One-click Desktop cleanup: scans loose files, shows a preview, and sorts them into a "Kochi Organized" folder.
🎯 Focus mode: starts a Pomodoro and hides all your desktop icons, with a live countdown on Kochi. When the timer ends, everything comes back.
💬 A companion, not a notification farm: greetings, water and stretch nudges, and small celebrations, in English or Hinglish. He stays quiet during fullscreen meetings.
↩️ Undo for everything: every cleanup is journaled, so one click puts your files back.
The safety part I'm proudest of
Kochi never deletes, overwrites, renames or edits a file. His file layer can only list, copy, and move to free names, and nothing moves without your confirmation. This is covered by 107 automated tests.
Privacy
100% offline. No accounts, no telemetry, no network requests. The optional AI chatter is off by default, and even when it's on it only uses the time of day and Kochi's mood, never your files.
Pricing: $5, one time. No subscription.
I'd love your feedback: what should Kochi learn next? Custom skins? More languages? A Mac version? Tell me and I'll build it. 🙏

Who hunted Kochi?
Kochi was hunted by Hatim Alamshawala. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
