kmra.dev
154 free file tools that never upload your files
Compress a photo to the exact KB a form asks for, merge PDFs, trim a video, cut a ringtone, make a Wi-Fi QR code, copy text from a screenshot, format JSON, tune a guitar: 154 small tools in 10 free apps. Everything runs in your browser. Each page tells the browser it may only talk to its own site, so your files never leave your device. No sign-up, no watermark, works offline. Open source (AGPL), in English and Bangla.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Rejowan, a software engineer, and kmra.dev started with a small annoyance: I kept uploading my passport scan to random websites just to make it smaller for a form, and each one wanted a sign-up, showed ten ads or added a watermark.
So I built the tools I needed, and kept going: 154 tools across 10 apps for images, PDFs, video, audio, QR codes, text in pictures, code, colours, calculations and music.
Everything runs in your browser. The heavy work happens in WebAssembly and Web Workers (WebCodecs with ffmpeg.wasm for video, an on-device model for background removal, Tesseract and PaddleOCR for text), and every page's security policy only allows requests to its own site, so a file can't leave your device even by accident. Free, no account, no watermark, works offline once loaded, and open source.
A few to try first:
- Compress a photo to an exact size (50 KB, 100 KB) for a form
- Remove a background, entirely on your device
- Merge or compress PDFs
- Print a Wi-Fi QR card for guests
I'd love feedback on two things: which tool you'd want next, and anything that feels slow or confusing on your phone.
