Klyqo
46 real typing sounds for your Mac, from the menu bar
Klyqo is a native menu bar app that plays real keyboard, mouse and scroll sounds as you type, anywhere on your Mac. 46 sounds (36 recorded from real keyboards), record your own keyboard, and it goes quiet by itself on calls. Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm the maker of Klyqo. Typing on a laptop is quiet and a bit lifeless. A mechanical keyboard sounds great, but it's loud, expensive, and not always an option. I wanted that sound on any Mac keyboard, without sending a single keystroke anywhere. So Klyqo plays real recorded keyboard and mouse sounds as you type, from the menu bar: • 46 sounds, 36 recorded from real keyboards and keycap sets, plus 10 original voices (linear, tactile, clicky) • Mouse clicks and scroll ticks • Record your own keyboard, or import a WAV file or folder • Goes quiet automatically while your mic is in use, so it's silent on calls • Per-app rules for a different sound, or silence The part I care most about is privacy. A keyboard sound app has to know a key was pressed, so it needs the Input Monitoring permission. It uses that only to play the sound. It never stores or sends what you type, key names, or app names. You can hear everything before installing anything: open ballmac.com/klyqo and just start typing. There's also a worldwide "thock counter" showing sounds played around the world. Pricing: free 3-day trial key by email (no card), then $7.49 one-time for 2 Macs, with a 14-day refund. The first 50 buyers get $4.99 with code FIRST50. I'd love your feedback on the sounds and on the first-run experience. Which sound should I add next?
