Kkeung

People take a back seat. Pups take center stage.

Kkeung is a neighborhood social app where the dogs are the main characters, not people. Profiles, feeds, and posts all belong to the dog. Photos, 1-minute videos, and walk records build up on your dog's own page. The feed only shows dogs that actually live nearby. Turn on a live walk and friends join in real time, and sometimes that turns into actually walking together. Made by a Korean developer and his Bichon, Gureum. Available on iOS and Android.

Hi PH, I'm Lucas, a developer in Korea.

Nobody in my neighborhood knows my name.

Everyone just calls me "Gureum's dad." (He's a 5-year-old Bichon, and he looks exactly like his name, which means cloud.)

I know the name of every dog on our walking route, but not a single owner's name.

One day it hit me: all the relationships in this neighborhood belong to the dogs. And the more I thought about it, the more that seemed right.

Online is the exact opposite.

When I post Gureum on Instagram, the account, the followers, and the likes are all mine. He's the whole point, but online he becomes my content. So I built Kkeung, where the profile belongs to the dog.

Honest status: we just launched in Korea and there are barely any users yet. If you join, you'd literally be the first dog in your neighborhood.

I'd love raw feedback. Tell me what's confusing and what's weird.

I'll reply to every comment.

Who hunted Kkeung?

Kkeung was hunted by lucas. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
