Keystream
Turn your keyboard into a piano. Type, listen, enjoy.
A simple, chill app that turns your computer keyboard into a musical keyboard. Made for typing enthusiasts to just relax and mix up an otherwise monotonic task. Every key has it's own note (musical frequency), which you can experiment with and compose a new type of music - where you literally type. Try it, maybe you'll enjoy it.
I love typing on the keyboard. Ever since I learned to type on a typewriting machine, I loved it. The sound it made (the thuck-thuck-thuck) was soothing to my ears. And in present, I missed that, as I type mostly on the bland membrane keyboard on my laptop. I wanted to mix it up. So I thought, why not add some music? I researched, tried, added some sound to some keys and once it worked, I was hooked.
Then I had the idea to completely turn every key into musical notes to create a nice virtual piano. It's not very accurate to the sounds (as the original hertz of the real piano killed my speakers), but I made it as close as possible, relaxing and enjoyable.
I only used Javascript for the logic and event handling. Mostly done by me, with a little help from AI. The UI is also just HTML, CSS, might be old school, but it looks great, so who cares? Anyway, try it and tell me what you think.
