Kerbie

Photograph a UK parking sign, get the rules in plain English

Most parking apps help you find a car park or pay for one. Kerbie answers the question at the kerb: can I actually park here, right now? Photograph any UK parking sign and get the times, max stay and conditions in plain English. See nearby spots ranked by walk time, cost and confidence on a list or map, using official DfT restriction data where available. Start a timer with alerts before it runs out, and draft a PCN appeal if you're fined. Free to start.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 We built Kerbie at Synternex because UK parking signs stack several rules on one plate, and getting it wrong means a fine. Kerbie lets you photograph the sign and reads the restrictions back in plain English. It also finds nearby parking ranked by walk time and cost, and runs a timer that alerts you before your time runs out. Since August it has also used the Department for Transport's national D-TRO restriction data where it's available. What we're honest about: it's guidance, not a guarantee, so the physical sign is always the final word. It's UK-only. It's on Android and the web today (there's no iOS app in the App Store yet, so iPhone users can use kerbie.app in Safari). You'll need a free account. Free tier: 8 sign scans per 30 days (2 a day), timers, and one PCN appeal letter. Pro is £4.99/month. We'd love blunt feedback, especially any scan that reads a sign wrong. What would make you trust an app's reading of a parking sign?

Who hunted Kerbie?

Kerbie was hunted by Synternex Technologies. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
