I’m Doug, and I built Kalendar Kid after getting frustrated with manually entering my daughter’s school calendar into Google Calendar every year. School calendars, sports schedules, camps, and newsletters all arrive in different formats, and somehow parents are expected to copy every date by hand.
Kalendar Kid lets you forward an email or upload a PDF, review the extracted events, and end up with:
Your Google Calendar. Already filled out.
Building this was an interesting AI challenge because school calendars are messy—different layouts, recurring events, half days, exceptions, and last-minute changes. My goal wasn’t just to extract text, but to create a calendar parents can actually trust.
Since it’s back-to-school season, it felt like the perfect time to launch.
