KABUT

Free live quizzes for classrooms with slow internet

KABUT is a live, Kahoot-style quiz platform built for classrooms where the internet is slow and budgets are zero. Hosts create a quiz, students join with a code on any phone browser — no app, no signup, no paywall on the basics. It was built for the kind of connection most quiz tools assume you don't have: lightweight pages, minimal data per question, and graceful behaviour when a player drops off the network mid-game. Free to use. Made for teachers, lecturers and student groups or just friends.

Top comment

Hi PH 👋 I built KABUT because every live quiz tool I tried assumed two things I didn't have: a fast connection and a budget. On a slow network they stall, drop players mid-game, or lock the useful parts behind a plan. So I made one that stays light. Host makes a quiz, players join with a code in any phone browser — no app, no signup, and a weak signal doesn't knock you out of the game. Mostly I just want it to be fun. Quizzes are at their best when a room is shouting at a leaderboard, and that shouldn't depend on where you're connecting from. Try it, break it, tell me what's missing. Genuinely reading every comment today.

Who hunted KABUT?

KABUT was hunted by Habeeb Abdulfatah. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
