Hi Product Hunt - Junction Nine is the second game I've built under Bricks & Chips, and this one grew out of an unusual place: a lecture at my daughter's math camp about the mathematics of a 3x3 rotation puzzle. The rules are simple. Spin rectangular sections of a 3x3 board 180 degrees until all the colored paths connect. Underneath that simple mechanic is a state space of 185,794,560 possible arrangements and orientations. Every state is solvable in nine spins or fewer, and every puzzle I ship is checked by a solver so its shortest solution is known. That means there are really two challenges: Solve the puzzle. Find the best possible solution. Like ZenCubed, Junction Nine started as a family project, with my kids as some of the earliest and most direct playtesters. I also wanted to make a game that respects the players' attention. You can think about it, put it down, and come back to it. There are no timers, streaks, ads, or subscriptions. Origin includes 30 puzzles free, and Transfer adds another 30 for a one-time $2.99 purchase. I'd especially love feedback on the balance between giving players enough visual information to reason through a puzzle without making the optimal solution too obvious. Thanks for checking it out!
