Jotter

Instantly hand off your context across AI chats

Save your context (jot) from one, load it in any other: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or a brand-new thread. Never explain twice.

Top comment

I use Claude and ChatGPT daily, mostly on the go, across a bunch of parallel topics. My "system" was renaming chats so I could find them again, keeping notes on the side, and copy-pasting or exporting markdown summaries whenever I wanted a fresh perspective from another model or to handoff a thread to Claude Code CLI.

When I looked for a fix, everything I found was heavy: graph databases, vector stores, another AI in the pipeline to sign up for, usage-based APIs to babysit. I just wanted to jot something down mid-conversation and pick it up anywhere else. So I built the smallest thing that does exactly that. Talking to friends, family and a few AI tools power users, it turned out the "note it now, continue it elsewhere" pain was everywhere.

Jotter is a connector you add once to each AI app. In any chat: "jot this" or "jot this focusing only on downsides" (saves a jot). In any other chat, any other vendor: "analyze gaps in my recent jot" (loads a jot). "List my Opus or GPT 5.5 jots" (lists jots). Only Explicit saves (nothing runs in the background), text only, and your jots are yours forever, never expire. "Delete Jot-ID" (deletes a jot)

The honest catches:

  • If your plan can't add connectors aka plugins or MCPs, Jotter can't reach it.

  • There's a one-time connect per app surface: a boring OAuth screen to help keep jots private to you, ~20 seconds.

  • Yes, the big vendors shipped memory export/import recently. Those are one-way, great for switching. Jotter is live and two-way, built for going back and forth.

Free for 10 jots, private forever. Pro is $9.99 a year - about 3 cents a day. Not doing another $20-a-month to you.

Would love to hear how you move context between AIs today, summarize or paste rituals? a notes-app graveyard? That exact workflow is what I built this for, and it's what I want to make better next.

Who hunted Jotter?

Jotter was hunted by Ojas Sawant. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
