JotSplit
Group expenses without the form filling
Type "dinner 120, me and Sarah, I paid" and JotSplit extracts the amount, payer, and participants. No forms, no dropdowns. The AI only extracts fields. Every calculation is deterministic code, and nothing counts until you confirm it on a review page. An expense you didn't approve doesn't exist. Balances are never stored — always computed, so they can't drift. Built solo. 1.1 just shipped with push notifications. iOS, free.
Hey PH 👋
I built JotSplit because every expense splitter I tried made
me fill out a form. Amount field, payer dropdown, participant
checkboxes — for a $12 lunch.
I wanted to just write it down like a note. So the input is one
sentence and the app does the structuring.
The part I'm most opinionated about: the AI never does math. It
only pulls out fields. Every calculation is deterministic code,
and there's a mandatory review page before anything is written.
I didn't want an LLM quietly getting someone's share wrong.
I'm a solo dev and this is my first shipped app. 1.1 just went
live with push notifications.
Happy to answer anything — architecture, the Supabase setup,
what App Store review was like, whatever.
