The key thing: transcription runs 100% on-device on your Mac (Apple Silicon) and iPhone. No audio, no transcripts, nothing leaves your machine — there's literally nothing to leak. And there's no account, no subscription, and no usage limits. The leading dictation apps charge ~$144/year for this.
A few favorite features:
• Rewrite by voice — select text, say "make this friendlier" or "translate to Spanish," and it's rewritten in place
• Optional cleanup that strips filler words while keeping how you actually talk
• Custom vocabulary for names, acronyms, and jargon
• Searchable history of everything you've dictated
