Tech interviews have been broken for years, and everyone in the industry knows it. Both of us were developers before starting JobPath. Between us we sat through a stupid number of technical interviews, on both sides of the table. The pattern was always the same. You memorize algorithms you'll never write. You reverse a linked list under a stopwatch while a stranger watches your face on Zoom. And somehow this is supposed to predict whether you'd be a good engineer. It doesn't. Nobody in HR is moving to fix it, because changing hiring processes is political and risky. Meanwhile developers waste months grinding LeetCode for a test that doesn't measure the actual work. So we built JobPath. It's a desktop app with an AI assistant that listens to the interview and suggests answers on your screen in real time. The part people ask about first: it's invisible when you share your screen. That invisibility isn't there to help anyone cheat. We just think the format itself is what's broken. Using an AI on a live coding puzzle is the same as using a calculator on a math exam. The test was supposed to measure understanding. It's measuring arithmetic speed. There's a line we won't cross. We don't work with medicine, finance, or any role where a wrong answer affects someone's health or money directly. Software, data, product roles are fine. Cardiology residency, quant trading are not. Happy to argue that one. A few things shifted while building it. We started with just the real-time assistant. Users kept asking for more of the workflow around interviews, so we added mock interviews, a 13,000+ question base, and resume tools. Auto-applies on HH.ru started as a side feature and became one of the most-used parts, especially for people doing 50+ applications a week. We originally planned paid-only, but after the first users told us a trial clock was stressful during an already stressful job search, we opened a real free tier. It's 15 minutes of AI per interview and 15 auto-applies a day, with no card and no time limit. Happy to answer questions about any of it, especially the ethical side. We genuinely want to know what a sane interview format could look like, because the current one isn't working for anyone.

Who hunted JobPath?

JobPath was hunted by Nikita Orlov. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
