I wrote a musical years ago called '58, and spent two years unable to find anyone to write the music for it. While looking, I came across an AI music tool and used it to finally give the musical its songs — and that got me curious about what else AI could actually do.
JazzEra grew out of that curiosity, on two fronts at once: jazz never developed the video culture that pop music has — no tradition of tracks paired with the videos people make for them — and I wanted to see if that could change. And separately, I wanted to find out, honestly, what an AI agentic assistant could actually build and run in the real world if I gave it real direction. I designed and directed JazzEra; Claude (Anthropic's AI) built and runs the technical side of it under that direction. That's stated plainly on the site itself, not hidden.
The result: an open catalogue of AI-generated jazz, and a simple idea — listen to a track, make a video in response to it, and JazzEra hands you back a real finished music video with the track built into the soundtrack. Would genuinely love to know what people think.
