Hi everyone, maker here. This started as an annoyance with my own setup. I had three menu bar utilities running: one for clipboard history, one as a shelf for dragging files between apps, and one for dictation. Three icons, three hotkeys I kept mixing up, and three separate things to pay for. None of them talked to each other, and all three did roughly the same thing — hold something for a moment so I could put it somewhere else. So Jackdaw is those three behind one keystroke. Press Ctrl-Cmd-V and you get your clipboard history, searchable, with preview and in-place editing; a shelf you can drop files onto while you go find where they belong; and press-to-talk dictation. The dictation runs entirely on-device, and nothing is uploaded anywhere — there is no account and no server to sign into. It is native Swift and SwiftUI with a Rust core, not Electron. It needs macOS 14 or later and it is Apple silicon only, which is a deliberate tradeoff I made to keep it small and fast rather than a universal binary. $25 one-time, and the 14-day trial is the whole app. Happy to answer anything — especially interested in whether the one-hotkey-for-three-things idea actually clicks for other people or whether it just made sense in my own head.
