Jaavo

Turn every job application into a plant in your garden

Applying to jobs is exhausting. Jaavo makes the grind feel good. Every application you log grows a plant in your own garden. Sprouts when you apply, flowers when you're interviewing, a cherry tree when you get the offer. The more you apply, the more your garden fills in. And logging takes one tap. I started building Jaavo last year when I was applying to jobs. I'd apply a lot from my phone — LinkedIn, Handshake, Indeed, whatever — usually in random moments like on the subway or waiting around. But there was nowhere to log any of it. I'd tell myself I'd write it down later on my laptop, and then either forget or sit down to type it all out and give up halfway through. So the first version was just about fixing that — build a share extension so you can log a job in one tap, wherever you are. But the longer I was in the job search, the more I realized the tracking wasn't the real problem. The real problem was motivation. Applying to 100+ jobs and hearing back from almost none of them is brutal, and no spreadsheet is going to fix that. That's where the garden came in. Every application plants something. Sprouts when you apply, flowers during interviews, a cherry blossom tree when you land the offer. Rejections become moss-covered stones — I didn't want them to feel like failures, just part of the landscape. The idea is that even if most applications go nowhere, you still have something growing to show for the effort. iOS only for now since the share extension is the whole thing. Let me know what you think.
