IOTManager
Fleet Management For Linux Devices Made Simple
An easy-to-install, firewall friendly utility to allow batch command execution on Linux or Mac devices, and provide individual remote device access in the form of a web terminal, file manager, and public URL(s).
At a previous startup company, we deployed IoT edge devices to remote sites over unstable and unpredictable networks that required us to "phone back" to establish a connection we could then leverage for remote device updates and/or troubleshooting. We needed to solve five fundamental problems:
1. Batch Updates: Run a single command on multiple devices in parallel.
2. Remote Access: Give easy direct access to the device(s) over the internet for site-specific troubleshooting.
3. Network Friendliness: Need to be able to access these devices across strict firewalls, and sometimes without internet access.
4. Ease Of Adoption: Tools are easy to setup and don't need any gymnastics to coordinate.
5. Cost Effectiveness: Needless to say, I don't want to pay upwards of $1000/month to manage a relatively tiny fleet of devices.
We found that many tools exist that solve one or even two of these problems really well, but none quite tick all five boxes, so we decided to build IOTManager.
With a 30 second install, your machine(s) will connect to our platform through outbound HTTPS. Through our platform you can directly access your device through a web terminal and web file browser. If more intimate troubleshooting is needed, we provide a public URL functionality (think Ngrok) to allow public access to a locally hosted web server. Finally, you can mass update your fleet of devices via bash script(s).

Who hunted IOTManager?
IOTManager was hunted by Randy Kay. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
