InvestJournal
Your investing journal, inside Claude.
Track what you own, why you own it, and what it's worth. InvestJournal holds your watchlists, reverse-DCF valuations, thesis notes and portfolio, then connects to Claude so you can ask about your own research instead of retyping it: rank a watchlist by ROE, recall what you wrote when you bought, log a trade. Web, iPhone, Mac and Android, in English and French. Free to start; Pro is C$25/month in Canada and the US.
👋 Hey Product Hunt!
I built InvestJournal because my process was scattered across spreadsheets, broker
tabs and a Notes app I never reopened. I'd do real research on a company, form a
thesis… and six months later have no record of why I bought it.
The part I'd start with: it connects to Claude.
Not a chatbot bolted onto a finance app — the opposite. InvestJournal exposes 66
tools over your own data, so you can stay in Claude and say things like:
- "Rank my watchlist by return on equity."
- "What did I say about CNR when I bought it?"
- "Log 40 shares of ATD at $78.20 in my RRSP."
- "Which of my holdings trade below the fair value I calculated?"
- "Who on my list reports this week?"
It reads and writes. Claude can add a stock, write a thesis, record a transaction, set
an alert or put a task on your list — against the same data the web app shows. Setup is
a two-minute flow at investjournal.io/connect.
What it's connected to:
🧮 Reverse-DCF valuations — instead of guessing a fair price, see what growth the
current price already implies. It turns "is this expensive?" into a question you can
actually answer, and your holdings are priced against your number, not an
analyst's.
📓 A thesis journal — the bull case, the bear case, and what would change your
mind, with full revision history so you can watch your own reasoning move.
🌅 A morning desk — Home is a ranked list of what needs your judgment today: a
holding that crossed your fair value, a company that just reported, a thesis you said
you'd revisit. Not a feed.
📅 An earnings calendar — only dates the companies themselves announced, never an
estimate, for the names you follow.
💼 Portfolio — transactions, cost basis, unrealized P&L, several accounts, cash
included and currencies kept apart.
📊 Watchlists, ratios and alerts — with per-stock grading thresholds you set
yourself, because "good ROE" isn't the same number for a bank and a software company.
📰 News — a public feed plus notifications for the companies you actually follow.
On the web, on iOS, on macOS and on Android, in English and in French.
Free to start. Everything above is free with one portfolio. Pro is C$25 a month
(Canada and the US for now): the margin of safety between today's price and your own
fair value on every portfolio row, up to five portfolios, fair-value alerts and a
screener over the whole universe. Cancel any time.
I'd genuinely love your feedback — what's missing from your own investing workflow?
I'm reading and replying to every comment today. 🙏
(Not investment advice — a research and journaling tool, not a recommendation engine.)

Who hunted InvestJournal?
InvestJournal was hunted by François Fournier. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
