Mug Alive
A coffee mug that comes alive on your phone
Mug Alive is a real ceramic mug with a hidden digital layer. Point your phone at the artwork and the mug comes alive on your screen with an animated experience. No app to download. It looks like an everyday mug until you discover the second world inside it.
created Mug Alive because a printed mug normally has only one life: the image you see on the ceramic.
I wanted to give a physical object a second, hidden life without asking people to install an app or use a headset.
With Mug Alive, you simply point your phone at the artwork and a digital experience appears on your screen. The physical mug stays exactly where it is, but what you see through your phone changes.
My goal was to make augmented reality feel simple, playful and accessible to anyone.
I’d love to know what Product Hunt thinks: is this the kind of interaction you’d like to see built into more everyday objects?
