Four years ago I built a health app in Turkey. It reached 300,000 downloads — and almost nobody used it.
That is the part worth saying out loud. We were good at getting people to install it. What waited for them inside was paid doctor appointments, and that is not something people open an app for every day. Acquisition worked; the product didn't. I owned the vision and orphaned the product — a team built my idea with losses at every handoff, and I shipped things I knew were wrong because the sprint was already committed.
This is the rebuild, done alone in ten weeks, and it is the opposite bet: something you have a reason to open every morning. A few questions, then one protocol for the day.
I also wrote a constitution for it before I wrote the code — it may observe but never diagnose, it says when it knows too little, and it does not agree with you to keep you happy. No score to chase. No streak to break. No analytics. It compares you to who you were, and that's the only comparison I think is honest.
