InstantGradient
Gorgeous mesh gradients. Infinite palettes.
Turn color palettes into animated mesh gradients. Hit spacebar, generate harmonious palettes, see them render live as flowing WebGL shader gradients. Lock what you like, shuffle the rest. Export in 4K, MP4, CSS, Tailwind, or React. 4,900+ named color pages. Community palette library. REST API to use our data and algorithm from your own app. No account needed. Just open and start.
Hey PH! I'm Ugo, I built InstantGradient.
Quick backstory: I kept finding palettes I liked in Coolors, then pasting the hex codes into a separate tool to see what they looked like as gradients. Half the time, palettes that looked great as flat swatches washed out as gradients. The other half, boring palettes came alive once the colors started blending.
So I built a generator where **the palette IS the gradient**. Same spacebar mechanic, but you see the result in real time.
Four failed versions later, here's v5. A few things I'm proud of:
- The gradient renders live via **WebGL shaders**. Not a static image, the gradient moves and breathes
- Video export produces **frame-perfect MP4s** using WebCodecs, not screen recording
- **4,900+ color pages**, each with AI-written descriptions, contrast checking, and code snippets in CSS, Tailwind, Swift, and more
- A **REST API** that lets you generate palettes and look up color data from your own code
- The whole palette ecosystem: saves, collections, public profiles, community directory
It's free to try, no sign-up required. Open the generator, hit spacebar, see what happens.
I built this solo over the past year. Would love to hear what you think, what's confusing, what's missing, what you'd build with it.
