Who hunted InstaFact?
InstaFact was hunted by Shivam Agarwal. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. I created InstaFact with a simple belief: social media should be a place where we discover and learn, not just consume and believe everything we see.
Today, a misleading claim can reach millions of people through a single reel or short, often before anyone questions whether it's true. I wanted to build something that makes verifying information as easy as sharing it.
InstaFact helps people fact-check claims they come across on social media and explore credible sources behind the answers. My vision is to make people more curious, more informed, and less vulnerable to misinformation.
I believe that if we make fact-checking a natural part of how people use social media, we can create a meaningful shift in how information spreads online. The goal isn't to tell people what to believe, but to empower them to discover the truth for themselves.
That's the change I want InstaFact to be a part of — one claim, one reel, and one informed person at a time.
