Inkword
Type a word. Get an editorial illustration, drawn live.
Type a word or a short phrase and Inkword draws a small editorial illustration that inks itself on screen, stroke by stroke. Pick one of five house styles (Figures, Doodle, Cut Paper, Riso, Blueprint), then move, recolour, flip or delete any mark, or type a change. Export PNG, SVG, GIF, MP4 or Lottie. Made for newsletters, blog headers, slides, empty states and 404 pages. 10 free drawings every month; packs from $5, paid once, never expire.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Sumit, a lead product designer at Whatfix, in India. I've always been fascinated by minimal illustration styles and abstract shapes.
Every newsletter, slide and empty state I designed needed a small picture, and the pictures never matched each other. So I built Inkword: type one word, and it draws a small editorial illustration that inks itself on screen, stroke by stroke.
What's in it today:
• Five house styles: Figures, Doodle, Cut Paper, Riso and Blueprint
• An editor: move, resize, recolour, flip or delete any mark, or type a change ("add a dog")
• Exports: PNG, SVG, GIF, MP4 and Lottie. It's vector underneath, so it scales and animates
• 10 free drawings every month. Packs from $5, paid once, and they never expire. You can try one on the homepage without an account
How it got good, honestly: AI models pick the idea and write each drawing as a handful of vector marks. Inkword's own renderer does the brushwork and the animation. The hardest part was the tuning. I ran more than 1,000 blind tests, choosing between two drawings without knowing which prompt made them, and changed models, instructions and everything else along the way.
What surprised me most was how beautifully it creates emotions and objects, and the way it doodles them.
Launch week: every pack comes with 50% more drawings until 10 October.
I'd love your honest feedback: which word broke it, and which style would you actually use at work? I'm here all day.

Who hunted Inkword?
Inkword was hunted by Sumit Bedi. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
