Ingrelo

Snap an ingredient list. Every ingredient, explained.

Photograph any ingredient list. No barcode, no database lookup - Ingrelo reads the label itself, so it works on the products other apps cannot find. Text recognition runs on your device, so the photo never leaves your phone. Every ingredient is explained in plain language: what it does, what to watch for - acne triggers, irritation, pregnancy cautions - and how it fits the skin profile you set. Free: 3 scans a day.

Hi Product Hunt — maker here. I built Ingrelo after repeatedly hitting the same wall: ingredient apps work by scanning a barcode and looking the product up in a database. That breaks down for anything not in the database, which in practice is a lot of products — especially newer ones and Asian ones. So Ingrelo reads the label itself. You photograph the ingredient list, text recognition runs on your device, and each ingredient gets a plain-language explanation: what it does, what to watch for (acne triggers, irritation, pregnancy cautions), and how it fits the skin profile you set. A few deliberate choices: - The photo never leaves your phone. Only the extracted text and your skin profile are sent for analysis. - Free tier is 3 scans a day; Pro is unlimited, with full scan history. - Ingrelo gives general information, not medical advice. Would love feedback — especially from people who read ingredient lists for fun. What's missing, what's wrong, what's confusing?
