We originally built Infinity for ourselves – we needed a tool to analyze macro markets but nothing out there quite fit our needs. We opened up the platform to close friends and clients a few years ago to improve their research workflow and it quickly became a beloved tool for them. We are now opening it up to the world! 🚀 What sets Infinity apart - Data: Infinity provides traditional economic and market data, but we differentiate in several ways. * First, our data is pre-cleaned, pre-spliced, and pre-transformed, so you can focus on doing research rather than fixing data. For example, a lot of China economic releases have missing data in January and are not seasonally adjusted. We've done the hard work for you, disaggregating Jan-Feb data and performing seasonal adjustment that accounts for the Chinese New Year effect. * Second, our data is very long-term, thanks to a huge curation effort we did out of the New York Public Library a few years ago. We painstakingly digitized old economic data, so that you can look at slow-moving secular trends that have become increasingly important. * Third, Infinity provides a lot of analytical data and proprietary indicators we calculate and use ourselves, such as daily economic growth estimates for 37 countries, systematic FX strategy indices, constant maturity yield curves, etc. - Visualization: Our own research workflow starts with charts, so we want to make sure it's super easy to create complex, production-quality visuals. Our “parameterized storyboard” feature lets you create a set of charts for one country/market, which then automatically works for every other country/market. The incredibly flexible annotation system lets you do something like "highlight all the periods when PMI was below 50” effortlessly, helping you make sense of the data and uncover patterns. Infinity is also perfect for What-If analyses. It’s incredibly intuitive to build charts that answer questions like “what happens to stocks when the Fed starts raising rates.” - Analytics: Performing time series analytics is incredibly easy on Infinity. We have an in-house symbology that lets you perform complex analytics in seconds. There's virtually no learning curve either, because all the symbols and transformation codes autocomplete as you type. - AI: We've begun integrating GPT into the platform. It's still early, but most of our charting features can be performed with natural language, so you can say something like "plot the 21-day moving average of S&P 500 and shade recessions." Infinity may not be flashy, but our goal is to really perfect the basics and make all the key things that investors do every day as easy, productive, and fun as possible. Infinity is not for everyone – stock pickers will find better platforms. But for investors that strive to make sense of the big picture, we believe Infinity is unrivaled.
