IMFMSynth — FM x Wavetable Synthesizer
Craft original presets with FM x Wavetable synthesis.
FM synthesis shouldn't feel like solving a puzzle. IMFMSynth brings eight freely connected operators and wavetable synthesis into a clear, familiar synth interface. Draw arrows to see how sounds connect, use wavetables as FM operators, and shape each sound with drawable envelopes and three filter stages. From classic FM tones to evolving textures, explore deeper sound design with controls that feel familiar. Load your DX7 banks or import Serum and Vital wavetables to make them your own.
Which part of FM do you get stuck on: the routing, the envelopes, or predicting what a
change will do? Ask me anything specific and I will give you a specific answer.

Hi Product Hunt. I'm Kaito, an independent developer from Japan.
I built IMFMSynth because FM's reputation for being hard to approach lives mostly in the
interface, not in the synthesis. Any of its eight operators can run a wavetable, so you
start from a sound you can already predict and hear yourself shaping the modulation from
there. You draw the routing between operators, or start from one of the 32 classic
algorithms and rewire it. Envelopes are drawn as shapes, with zoom and a linear or log
time axis, rather than set as rate and level pairs.
Play the real thing in your browser, nothing to install and no sign-up:

DX7 .syx files import as editable patches. That is a conversion, not an emulation. Serum
and Vital wavetables load too.
Windows and macOS, VST3, AU and CLAP. $19 launch price (regular $49), perpetual license
for three machines, interface in ten languages.
