Ilo

A local AI operating shell that keeps working

Ilo is a local-first Windows AI workbench for continual agent workflows. Connect a workspace, set a goal, and let Ilo research, plan, inspect files, create content, revise its work, and continue across follow-ups. Persistent projects, a live Blackboard, document retrieval, reviewable memory, context compaction, and explicit permissions keep every action visible and under your control.

Hi Product Hunt! I built Ilo because most AI tools are designed around isolated prompts. You ask a question, get an answer, and then rebuild the working context when you want to continue. I wanted a local AI system that could stay with a real project and keep moving. Ilo is a Windows AI operating shell for continual agent workflows. Give it a workspace and a goal, and it can research, plan, inspect files, create or revise content, and continue across follow-up turns while preserving the project thread and relevant context. The interface is deliberately transparent. The Blackboard exposes plans, tool calls, results, and errors in real time. Memory proposals are reviewable, context usage is visible, and sensitive actions stay behind explicit workspace permissions and approval controls. Ilo can also work with PDFs, DOCX files, images, source code, live web research, and local document retrieval. For private conversations and project work, Ilo can connect to a local OpenAI-compatible model server. Internet access is only needed when you choose to use live web research. I would especially value feedback on the continual-workflow model, the Blackboard, and how much control you want from a local agent system. Your model. Your files. Your memory. Your operating shell. — Matthew, founder of Voelori
