Idle. — Reclaim Your Screen Time
The screen time app that wants you to leave.
Sign up during launch week: the trial is 30 days. A screen-time app that doesn't lock your phone. Press start, lock the screen, put the phone down. Time away counts as reclaimed. Idle. is a mirror that does not judge. It doesn't track, reward, or shame you. It only shows the time you took back. It wants you to leave. From Wanderer to Returner, there are others on it. One or two companions. Three lamps a day. Four short practices. No ads. Nothing can be broken.
I'm a software engineer. Idle. started as a tool for one person: me — a counter for the hours I took back from my phone.
The lock-screen card came next, so the count is visible without opening anything. The counter never goes down. Not once, ever.
Then I built the parts that are hard to do alone. Companions are one or two people you choose. You each get three lamps a day — light one to leave a word. Dedications are short anonymous notes that find people still walking behind you. Rejoice is a quiet way to say "me too" to a stranger's note.
One rule sits above everything: the mirror does not judge. It reflects.
Everyone who signs up during launch week gets a 30-day trial. No code, no catch — it's applied automatically.
Happy to answer anything about the design decisions, including the ones I'm still unsure about.
