IdeaTamer
Stop collecting ideas. Start finishing one.
I had 47 ideas in Apple Notes and shipped zero. So I built IdeaTamer. Score each idea on Impact, Effort, Alignment. The top score becomes your Quest. Everything else waits. Every Monday you duel last week's version of you across four rounds: XP, milestones, quests shipped, streak. Beat your shadow or get humbled. No account. No cloud. No ads. Free on the App Store.
hey Product Hunt. Fiqhro here.
building solo from Ambon, a small city in eastern Indonesia (the nearest Apple Store is a 4 hour flight).
IdeaTamer is my attempt to fix my own problem. I had 30+ ideas scattered across Apple Notes, Notion, and random text files I forgot existed. shipped zero. tried Notion (spent 3 hours building a database template, shipped nothing). tried Obsidian (made a beautiful graph of connected thoughts, still nothing). the notes app just turned into a list I never scrolled back to.
the fix I landed on: every idea gets scored on three things, Impact, Effort, Alignment. three sliders, one number from 1 to 100. your top scored idea becomes a Quest. you literally can't start another one until you ship it or shelve it.
sounds restrictive. that is the point.
the feature I ended up weirdly proud of is Weekly Duels. every Monday the app snapshots your stats. you spend the week trying to beat your own numbers from 7 days ago. XP, milestones hit, quests shipped, streak days. four rounds. I lose to last week's me more often than I want to admit.
some deliberate choices in case they matter to you:
• 100% offline. the app makes zero network requests.
• no account, no cloud, no tracking
• SwiftUI + SwiftData, zero third-party dependencies
• free. no paywall, no Pro tier, no unlocks
built mostly with Claude Code. iOS 26+.
not here for upvotes as much as feedback. specifically:
• is 3 scoring dimensions right, or would you want more or fewer?
• does the "one active quest" constraint feel freeing or annoying after a week?
• anything obviously missing?
I will be in the comments all day. reply to everything.
